I promised that for now I’ll only bug you when I write something about food and climate…and I wrote something. It’s my second Eating the Earth column for Canary Media, about one of the dumbest threats to our ability to feed the world without frying the world: Biofuels. President Biden went to Iowa last week to suck up to the corn ethanol lobby, as presidents always do—even President Santos gritted his teeth and pandered—but it’s an immoral and indefensible policy that will increase food prices and carbon emissions without winning him a single vote. It’s just a weird issue; even the sainted scientists of the IPCC have screwed it up. Anyway, enjoy the piece!
